I was thinking Robin was in a phase where she was making a million granny squares and they ended up with a crazy amount and Steve was like “Robs, we gotta make stuff with these” so he and Robin have a bunch of stuff made out of granny squares

The holiday season is upon us

Isn’t that the origin of fanfiction? Or even stories based off real events but with a slight change which would alter future events? The original stories aren’t “missing” things, I think? It seems more like they inspired other ideas which could be used in other stories?

I think also, when people consume media they love and they see something they think is “missing” from it, it allows the audience to create their own media they want to see. That’s how a lot of books and movies are made in the first place. Consuming a piece of media you love and going “but what if?”
