The idea he didn't throw himself into it enough like Tennant is ridiculous, IIRC he only pulled back from PR towards the end of his run (probably to avoid "Are you going?" questions), otherwise he went as hard at it as anyone has.

Plus, the Disney run started with Tennant.

Especially as the deal should've been about new potential audiences, not appeasing people who might have thought the first go around for RTD and Billie Piper were shit.

Even putting aside the flawed analysis of falling ratings (including zero 9pm shows hitting a million THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER), why would the BBC One Doctor Who ratings have any bearing on Disney's side of the partnership?

The "I want Doctor Who to have its budget cut!" crowd are weirdos. Why do you want the people who work on a show you love to be paid less? Or to be more stressed because they'd have to do the job of more people if they had to cut staff? Just say you want them to focus on practical effects/sets 🙄

Creative people never want their work to look shit either. It’s hard to imagine anyone half decent sticking that long with a job where you’re never allowed to really do your best.

Creativity has other routes than the misery and stress of working with a low budget and no time.

Just seen a post saying Disney definitely weren’t on board with RTD2’s content. As if they would give all that money and never take a second glance or give a note and just put it all straight onto the screen. That’s just not how TV works guys.

It is kind of funny that the longest period of time that Doctor Who has had an unclear future since 2003 or 2004 is about five months lmao.
