I forgot to do #LibFaves25 yesterday! Time Loops and Meet Cutes by Jackie Lau. I'm a massive fan of Jackie's, I've loved every book she's ever written, and this one is so special.

I mean, I definitely think we both should, but the only person I've known who won was my former boss who was maybe the worst person I've ever met, and she won because she bullied someone into writing an extensive, glowing recommendation. I think it's SUPER competitive?

One of the nice things about this is that when someone nominates you but you don't win, you get the nomination email and it's always so lovely! (Source: I've been nominated several times and I assume will never win)

I love this! Some of favorite librarians work for Multnomah County, I recommend them right back!

This is one of my favorite book list sets every year!

I am once again asking people to stop talking as if "queer romance" and "m/f romance" are mutually exclusive categories.

All of this, literally over one LGBTQ+ children's picture book. ONE. PICTURE. BOOK.

They dismantled the fucking public library for the whole county. They hate gay people this much.

If you have a library that functions, get in their inboxes or meetings now to tell them that they're great.

#LibFaves25 Day 3: I lovvvvved It Had To Be Him by Adib Khorram. Funny, sweet, sexy, made me want to throw away my life and move to Italy. We're so lucky to have a writer like Adib in romance.

Damnit, the last movie in the series has Craig from Degrassi, I might actually have to watch it 😭

ICE is kidnapping and locking up little kids, denying them medical care, and feeding them contaminated food.

They aren’t going after criminals, they are going after Black and brown people, because this isn’t about immigration, it’s about white supremacy.

Would be improved by several lesbians.

Y'all this gift wrapping movie... I've watched a lot, like a lot a lot, of Hallmark movies, and this is in contention for the worst I've ever seen.

Anyway the best part of that story is the pitch is for a romcom series set in the national parks but now it feels hard to sell because.... You know.

EXACTLY!!! When I turn in a trash pile first draft, in the back of my head, the 90s gifted kid is like MAYBE IT'S PERFECT

Once my agent sent me an email that said, "I have no notes on this pitch, it's ready to go" after the first round and I will never live up to that high.

My cynicism runs from the serious questions about how Hallmark mirrors our current political moment (would they ever actually let a Black man win Mr. Christmas) to the absurd (FOUR movies about the owners of a gift wrapping business???). Also the perennial, where are the lesbians.

Having deeply cynical thoughts about Hallmark shows while trying to get daily words in, feels like 2018 when I first drafted SoL. Maybe that's a good sign
