One part Bond, one part Buffett, with just the tiniest bit of Bukowski, all wrapped up in a superhero t-shirt. Cohost of the Whiskey With Witcher podcast.

03.10.2025 01:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Let's dust this one off for those who need a reminder. Past tense of "lead" is "led." It is NOT "lead," unless you're talking about the metal.
This is one of the most common editing corrections I have to make and it drives all of us who know the proper past tense batty to see it so often.
I have a billion words to say (and have written a fraction of them already) but, in the meantime, James Gunn made the exact film that the world needs right now. That it happens to be a Superman movie is a bonus.
So happy to be excited to be in the DC universe again.
David Corenswet's Superman clipped from a promotional poster.
You seem happier.
Thanks, I saw #Superman and I haven't stopped vibrating since. It's bright (brave) and bold. Every performance is spot on. It looks and feels magnificent. I have had plenty of time to sit with the film andβand I cannot stress this enoughβI don't have a single complaint about it.
Is it weird, tho, that now I want to see W1ll1am in the next M3gan movie? Can we have a crossover between a movie and a book?
07.06.2025 01:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm always excited to hear about new games, but the reality is that I'm so far behind in gaming that I probably won't be getting around to any of them until they're available used for super cheap and everyone's debating which of the two sequels is better.
06.06.2025 21:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My seventh year covering Pride Month for @dc.com is now officially underway. To start, hereβs my way too much fun interview with @sammaggs.bsky.social on this yearβs DC PRIDE 2025.

Well, this is pretty cool. @juleschingreene.bsky.social has a new literary column over at Popverse. You should definitely give it a look! ππ©Έπ www.thepopverse.com/literary-w1l...

30.05.2025 15:21 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Really sad I can't make it! That's a good lineup. Nicole's been doing some amazing work lately on the comics front!
29.05.2025 22:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's true, but I do think he's almost single-handedly responsible for an outsized number of them lately. And unlike the other guy, he was confirmed by a lot of people who should know better.
29.05.2025 22:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Everyone was focused on the muskrat. But the real problem has always been the dumbest member of the Kennedy family.
29.05.2025 22:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"Year One" and "The Long Halloween" have existed for decades. And yet, the audio adaptations of them make them feel fresher than ever and just may change your perspective on these classic comics. In his latest Gotham Gazette, @joshualapinbertone.bsky.social explains how: www.dc.com/blog/2025/05...
28.05.2025 22:18 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1It played a role as well. But that story's set later in his life, where Returns was very much Superman in his prime years, which seems closer to what we're seeing with Jon today.
17.05.2025 00:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I enjoyed "Superman Returns" when I saw it in 2006...but rewatching it today, I don't think it's aged well. That's for a number of reasons, but mostly, it's just pretty dull. Still, it has one important lasting legacy, which I discuss in this month's Superman column: www.dc.com/blog/2025/05...
16.05.2025 22:37 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0D&D was my favorite of the experiences, but you make a good point about the interactiveness of the IP. (Also, when I saw it, they weren't hiding mics, so something must have happened!) To me, following the same two characters thru the experience helped a lot, which was something that Trek didn't do.
16.05.2025 22:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's the perfect summation. A good first draft. My main thought was that it needed 1-2 more walkthroughs.
15.05.2025 20:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Alex isn't wrong in his interview. Supergirl #1 has what's easily my favorite first page that I've seen in a comic book in quite some time. Great work by @mooncalfe1.bsky.social!

13.05.2025 23:42 β π 48 π 13 π¬ 2 π 0I definitely enjoyed what they had there, but I felt like they needed at least one more walkthrough. If it's successful, I have no doubt it'll expand, but the crowds were fairly minimal the night we went. I hope it's doing well enough for them to bring it back! (Also, hi Parker!)
02.05.2025 22:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If John Wick in Vegas and Universal Fan Fest Nights do well, I think weβre going to see more non-scary "haunted houseβ immersive experiences: small groups guided through multiple rooms, linearly, interacting with actors or doing tasks.
Rumors are that immersive Phantom in NYC will also be linear.
That's why I keep sharing it. Most people know nothing about this.
01.05.2025 23:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Consider this my semi-regular reminder that Valnet is awful and owns some big sites in geek news that you absolutely should not be frequenting or sharing online. CBR, Game Rant, Screen Rant, Collider, MovieWeb, The Gamer. And now add Polygon to the list.

Really.
"Pizzaballa" sounds like something Mario would say after you complete a level.
23.04.2025 21:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love that you think that, but I can't say I agree! Though I do feel like people are unnecessarily hard on it, and in some ways, I think it holds up better than some of the others (in part because of what I wrote about).
21.04.2025 01:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Definitely bad potato salad. Because when it's really good, it's one of my favorite things.
20.04.2025 22:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's Superman Day and I realized I never shared my latest column. We've now gotten to "Superman IV" and...well, you can see why it ended the franchise. But have you watched it lately? It's surprisingly prescient in some fascinating ways. Read my thoughts on the DC website: www.dc.com/blog/2025/04...
18.04.2025 22:18 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0One thing my absence from Twitter resulted in was me completely missing this year's SDCC hotel lottery. I was already iffy on going this year, so I think this may be the final indicator that I should just stay home.
