Never in a thousand years I would build a Jekyll theme from scratch for my personal website, but with the genie, I just did it...
What can I say, it automated the thing I have 0 energy and motivation to do, css and frontend things.

Working on low level things is tiresome. Datadog vs OpenTelemetry, one doesn't implement the other, took me 1 month to demonstrate to Datadog support that they have a bug in their instrumentation πŸ₯² the fix is a feature request now, so I have to wait...

With the latest push to "BuyFromEU", anyone replaced their Kindle Papervwhite with Kobo or something else? Are they good?
All need is Type-C and a good range of books.
DRM is also an issue I'd like to "fix".

I'm debugging a HELM char right now...
How did we end up with the entire internet running on yaml files? How? 🀯

What's the best way to end the year? Yes, being on-call and an incident to happen πŸŽ‰

Good read, a bit long tho, I feel like the same message could have been sent in fewer pages πŸ˜…
One thing I miss in real life is nice project names, like "Phoenix", "Unicorn" and other cool names.

One of the best episodes I've listened to.

During my 3 weeks off, I discovered that going to the gym at 11AM makes it more enjoyable, you don't rush anywhere basically.
Too bad I'm back to 7AM now πŸ₯²

I started to get into the "Huberman Lab" podcast, which is pretty interesting, but how does one listen for 2+ hours in one go?

VSCode + Copilot. Most important is that it didn't break my workflow. I didn't need another editor/IDE to use GenAI, it's just there.

I started to realize that the more restrictions a language has, it's mostly for the better.
The flexibility of Python is very often abused and we end up with "flexible" APIs that are just a pain to maintain.
The worst part is that most engineers stick with Python only and never look beyond it.

It got merged. Yay. πŸŽ‰
Moving on with another PR for CloudEvents Python SDK. I'm working on a full rewrite of the SDK as the current version is not great at all and has quite a few bugs.

From time to time, my ego is raising, and it starts to slowly show in my day-to-day work. When I notice this, I know that it's time to get out of my comfort zone.
Nothing grounds me better than an open source contribution with a code review from an unknown person. Hello 50 comments :)))

Ok, 4 weeks of time off.
I need to bring back the joy of coding.
In the last year or so, I completely lost it, even if it brings food to my table πŸ˜”

New blog post is out, taking a fresh look at the outbox pattern: how to implement it correctly, is it still relevant, which alternatives exist?
