Angsty heaven. Like if Alanis Morrisette wrote a techno album. Practically no skips until the 3AM version. (OG 9/10, w/3AM: 8/10).

Good point!! (maybe I just find happiness harder to write lol) But I listen to her old stuff that people think was so ~deep and ~true, and I'm like, "yep, that sure is a 20something writing about love." Reminds me of my old fanfics that had to be ~innovative vs just telling a good story idk.

I found this reddit community who's v cynical about Travis Kelce b/c Taylor Swift didn't write ~deep, ~romantic songs about him. And while I'm not 1,000% convinced they're true love 5evah ... imo it's difficult to write about happiness. I actually think bad songs are a point in Kelce's favor.🤷‍♀️

...fine? Won't replace my beloved Indigo Girls. And the Tumblr-circa-2005 lower-case titles are a bit much. Needs more melody. 6/10.

Fave songs: #1. August (not even close), #2 Cardigan, #3 The 1. (also, Mad Woman, b/c I relate heavily to it ;)

Beautiful Little Fools. A supposed fleshing out of the women in The Great Gatsby. Except by "fleshing out," it's more like "pigeonholing them into the most predictable boxes." No surprising insights! The same voice for all POVs. No digging deeper into character motivation. Bleh.
