Calvin's story is fascinating, and the amount of history/current issues wrapped into the story is amazing. It's 1955 and Calvin's family has left Chicago after a traumatic incident, and they are passing as white in order to live in the new suburban neighborhood. 2/3

Just finished my first #NCTE24 read: The Color of a Lie by Kim Johnson. It's FAB-U-LOUS. I so want to be teaching this with a group of juniors/seniors who have just read A Raisin in the Sun, talking about redlining and Levittowns. 1/3
