Saw a dog get adopted at the Franklin County Dog Shelter yesterday and it’s still making me smile. Adopting a dog is the best thing you can do, and the second best is seeing one adopted. These cuties may still be available in Columbus, OH - we’re at our limit, but all dogs need proper homes!

What exactly is “a ghost of our data” without spoiling anything? I work with data all day, and haven’t been haunted by it (yet).

I was super happy last year when Pharaoh, an old PC city-building sim, was remastered - brought back a lot of childhood memories, and pretty faithful too! Still enjoying it on Steam!

So…25% of the lifetime total downloads of my dissertation from 15 years ago came in July 2025…from Brazil?! 🇧🇷 Don’t know if what caught their eye was the structural equation modeling or the application of Interdependency Theory, but I say, “Eu amo vocês! Brilhem, seus diamantes malucos!”

It was on hold at the library for like three months and then when I got it…finished it in five day! Just chewed through it! If you remember, let me know what you think of it!

One of the first things I did was block keywords related to charity, giving, donations, etc. Breaks your heart, but if you give to recognized charities it’s easier to sleep at night. May borrow the phrase “inverse of a soul” though

Perfect weather in Columbus, so we headed to the zoo and saw both the top of the polar bear and the bottom of the polar bear! It just started sitting on the glass tunnel above us! Its paws are huge! 🐻‍❄️

Always good to see someone enjoy a stone-classic! Chrono Trigger is, was, and will always be one of the very best!

Nowadays, my brother has the cartridge but I have the players guide that came with it…together we got it when it came out and it was amazing then and amazing now. I’d certainly consider buying it. Heck, I should probably try to assemble my childhood collection…but it’ll cost.

First really good book I’ve read in a month or two, The Wager is a true story that has mutinies within mutinies on a shipwrecked island off the west coast of South America. Those that survived told opposing stories in the press, and then there was the naval investigation… good book! (23/40) #booksky

I’m playing as many Mega Man games as I can this summer - on MM5 now - but something about the graphics is so off-putting on this one. I’d be willing to try it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to try it if that makes sense?

Happy to see the first peppers come out of the garden this year…gardening isn’t my hobby but I’m there to do the heavy lifting and tall person stuff (reach tomatoes high on the vine) so it’s fun to be useful. These ones are going into some smothered chicken for dinner tonight.

Lured in by a description that it’s like Stranger Things, I’ve been disappointed by a third book in a row. It’s short, a little bit spooky, and very 80’s (BetaMax, anyone?), but a quick read that explores family and memory. Probably forgettable, at least for me. Oh well! (22/40) #booksky

As much as I love the character of Merv, and you as a voice actor, I just can’t get past it and support the artist on this - I drew my line in the sand and I’m not crossing it. Sorry.

I’d rather see headlines like “Ozzy assumes rightful throne at age 76” rather than “Ozzy passes away at 76,” but that’s just me. 🤘 Started listening to him on a summer vacation in Hawaii, of all places. Never pass on a chance to see your heros live and in concert, friends.

I always warned my University of Texas at El Paso students that if their grades didn’t improve they could always transfer to Texas Tech and that set them straight!

A digital-free vacation allowed me to catch up on a relaxing hobby - crochet! So of course I will crochet one of my favorite video game ghosts, Inky! He turned out a little chunky and I could have made his eyes bigger but I’m happy with how he turned out overall! Wooble on! 👻

Leaving the chickens with all the food and water they need for a week while you’re off on vacation doesn’t guarantee things will be fine when you return (chickens are unpredictable!) but thankfully all the birds were fine when we came back, so they got some frozen watermelon. #backyardchickens

Have my first week of vacation in over a year and we’re off to a digital-limited resort. I was looking forward to sitting by the pool and hiking in the hills…but it’s going to rain really bad all week. Might be a lot of napping, book reading, and indoor activities.

When traveling in Ireland we’d pass ruins of castles and I’d ask the guide about them. After about four or five, I stopped asking because the answer was “Well, Cromwell…” English Civil War isn’t mentioned over here, and so those interested have to learn it themselves.
