The writing really is something else! If I remember, the first third of the book is setting the stage with the characters and then the rest is best described as the mental deterioration of a character as they are wandering around immediate post-war Germany. Hope that isn’t too spoiler-y.

Start to finish that was a wild (and challenging) one but well worth it. Felt like it expanded the brain. Good to see others reading it!

Need more positivity everywhere, so this was good to see! (I wanted to preorder but I also wanted to see how good it was…not falling for preorders again…)

I said “13a” cause I thought that was the closest but yeah, we weren’t stereotypically near a true or proper exit I don’t think. But I’ve now spent more time outside NJ than inside NJ which is something to think about!

This New Jerseyan who has lived in Ohio for 10+ years meeting a New Jerseyan who has lived in Ohio for 10+ years and we both immediately start asking each other “What exit?” and if we still have that Jersey accent (“Say ‘water!’, say ‘coupon!’”). Some things never ever change. #OH #NJ

Blue light filtering on my glasses has been a huge help. So much less strain after all the screen time!

Booster Tower had the best music of the game, and just loads of fun.

Never knew there was a movie (but I guess it figures) - I reread it a few years ago and it brought back good memories from fourth or fifth grade when it was assigned reading. Enjoy!

Haven’t been able to watch sports since COVID - something about empty arenas killed my enthusiasm for hockey and it hasn’t returned. Normally I would have watched the gold medal game but I spent some time organizing my hockey cards from my childhood instead. Good job USA, and good game Canada, too.

It’s a personal favorite it I also haven’t played anything after it…hope you like the setting and characters as much as I did!

Those original artworks are always kinda special, given how long the series has been with us and how much polish it receives now. Always like seeing ‘em.

Have that on my shelf and it’s a really good read - totally worth it. Earthbound’s localization was leaps and bounds above other games at the time like the Breath of Fire series on the SNES. The other Fangamer localization books (Legend of Zelda, Undertale) are just as good!

Nice work - I’m liking that Chandelure deck you shared earlier…is this one better or more reliable at winning? I have the cards for it…

Agreed. Personally, the only times I throw my title down is when someone is so far out of their element on statistics or psychology. If it’s to insist on their power structure, no that’s not acceptable. If it’s to insist on their expertise, that is generally okay.

Second half of the book was something else! Didn’t expect it at all.

Love being an adult…large tax refund cancelled out by opening the mail and seeing the equally large property tax bill. And while doing that getting notice from the bank that my credit card was seeing $2k worth of fraudulent activity. So I’m +/- $0 on the day so far, and inconvenienced. 😬
