Today, on Japanese Internment Day of  Remembrance, I want to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. A unit formed nearly entirely of Nisei, second-generation Japanese Americans from Hawaii and internment camps across the mainland.

Last week, I joined the Armenian National Committee of America - Western Region at the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument to remember and honor the 1.5 million lives lost during the Armenian Genocide.

I stand alongside my colleagues in solidarity with the Armenian American community.

Today marks three years since the tragic mass shooting that claimed 11 lives at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park. Over the weekend, I joined the City of Monterey Park for Resiliency Day to honor the lives impacted and to recommit to the community's journey of healing and remembrance.
