Hot take: rent should only cost the sqft of the place you are renting + whatever utilities. Ex, 2 bds apartment is 800 sqft, rent should be $800 + whatever utilities will be added on to that, lets say $350 for water, sewer, electricity, and heat. So total rent should be $1150.
