How Trumpβs Threat to Invoke Insurrection Act Differs From JFKβs Use in Mississippi
The military has been used about 30 times since 1807 to enforce civil rights and quell riots. Can they be used to quash political protests?
Even as tensions seem to have calmed in Minnesota, one fact remains clear: President Donald Trump, and any future president, has the power to send troops into local communities in an instant, and without consulting Congress. A court may be asked to rule if such an action is legal.

A teacher I work with moved her family to North Carolina for college for her kids. She still works here, while her husband and kids live there. It is also college costs driving people out of NJ.

A reminder that less than two months ago, the Trump administration abruptly ended the federal government's 27-year practice of collecting data on hunger and food insecurity.

Trump Is Forcing Millions to Make Cruel Choices
Do you go to your asylum check-in and risk capture by ICE? Without SNAP, what will you give up to feed your kids? How will you pay for healthcare?
Trump's deportation policies are creating a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-donβt conundrum for millions of immigrants in the US, writes @sashaabramsky.bsky.social.

Why just 100%? Why not 110%? That is 10% more? This guy just makes stuff up, with no math behind his numbers, and we will all be more miserable because of it.

What she doesn't realize/acknowledge, is that poking a little fun while people are in fear and suffering, is sadistic narcissism and is not how any leader should behave.

How Musk, Trump, and your boss learned to hate democracy
Work is a dictatorship. Is the government next?
DOGE's moves are far more familiar to the average American worker than you might think.
It's downsizing. Itβs layoffs. Itβs control by one annoying guy who, for some reason, is richer than you and is convinced that βworking the weekend is a superpower.β
Itβs government run like a business.

Al Green was right, he just needed some powerful looking Dems backing him up. Of course not right, but we live in sad times in this country. The Dems have the liberal elite votes, they need to fight for the middle class voters w/ a WWF approach, to match Trump's WWF villainy style. #idiocracy

The symbolism of Al Green is of being old and needing a cane. The Republicans put their tallest, fiercest looking members of congress out front. The Dems need to fight back with the same symbolism, of youth and power, not old guys or feeble Pelosi. It is a political war for shallow American voters.

This is about survival and better for Ukraine than falling to the hands of the Russians. Will it start to sour Trump's love for Putin when we start losing potential wealth to the US? Also, Trump won't be around for too many years, next administration we renegotiate the deal.

This is clearly an attempt at mining what federal workers do for Musk's AI bots meant to take over federal jobs. I would recommend sending the most human things you do that can't be replaced by AI. This is not about justifying workers, it is about looking for workers to replace with AI bots.

How would this improve efficiency by having all federal workers email one person about their weekly work duties? Do Republican lawmakers not have the common sense to realize how utterly inefficient and stupid this is?
