It’s part of growing a global fan base though. Fans in the UK can go to matches, I’m sure overseas fans would swap this experience for being able to do that.

I think Mbuemo will succeed (whether personal stats or otherwise) as he’s just a good player. Similar to Fernandes.

It was about 10 years ago now but it’s probably the favourite story I have of myself. It’s right out of ‘the Office’

… I was then made redundant by those same managers dressed up as the Adams Family and sent packing.

I was working in a sales role (estate agency). It was 31 October and in typical sales style, the managers of our office were all dressed up for Halloween.

After making us work until about 8pm for ‘month-end’, they pulled a number of us in to a room one at a time…

But again they are recognised countries in their own right.

It’s less about sport but more about the political structure of Great Britain vs. United Kingdom vs. Use of England/Scot/Wal/NI.

Also being UK would only make the team stronger than it is.

Looked it up out of curiosity and the English, Scottish, Welsh and NI football associations all pre-date FIFA. The identities of the nations RE football, were established well before the creation of the World Cup for example.

This is usually seen as a very elitist way of thinking.

In a David and Goliath meeting, gaining a hard won/unexpected point is extremely valuable for the former.

Your way benefits the richer,bigger club and punishes those punching up.

They’re are just under 5,000 teams in the English football pyramid. It is, in theory at least, possible that each of those teams could reach the top of the league system.

They’re is no sporting structure in the world like this, and that is why pro/rel is in place. It’s fluid and full of jeopardy
