I tried to have fun last night. I bought some film with cute little ghosts on it from my film shop. It was fun even if moving through a huge crowd cause me to shake and stun the whole night!!

02.11.2025 03:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This has been happening for 10 to 15 years for different memories, and i thought it was so normal and was simultaneously so ashamed I never brought it up to anyone. Traveling to countries where violence is the norm is more comforting to me. Having pure fun is not.
02.11.2025 03:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I went out for the holiday and it was so fun but then I suffered the whole night!! Didn't sleep until 9am
02.11.2025 03:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Malala writes how weed brought back memories of getting shot. I understand. Last night I did a simple thing by going to the famous NYC Halloween parade. I had a lot of fun. But then I couldn't sleep until 9am. I had flashbacks of tear gassed protests, being drunk, drugged, and alone in the city.
02.11.2025 03:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Most of my delusions and hallucinations ive learned to bear the pain and triggers without conscious thought. But yeah I end up avoiding Halloween parties and events a lot lol
12.10.2025 23:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I hate Halloween. Not only does it remind me of my hallucinations or put me on a constant cortisol high, the decorations are made with dirty plastic and everything feels gross to the toych! Both my deep and superficial sides are not happy with this holiday.
08.10.2025 22:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes there are people out there who will lift you up! Please also check out my friend Cecilia McGough on Instagram and her friends Kody Green (schizophrenichippie) and Vesper Moore (vesper_j_moore). We will have a podcast out eventually too
06.10.2025 16:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh man I get that too. At least we are not alone. Sometimes when I do any bit of human connection with people that mutually care for each other they subside and I hear more positive messages. Basically I try to surround myself with only good so the Voices absorb that
05.10.2025 19:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is possible to live a full life! Oh I am so curious about how it is like to live with the condition in India. I actually travel a lot and have done a little research in different countries about mental health
05.10.2025 12:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Me as a relaxed person who has schizoaffective disorder! With my sun hat and film camera in a city garden. Im so healthy!
05.10.2025 02:42 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This week I walked 21 miles!
05.10.2025 02:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I haven't had psychosis since I came back from my vacation in Mexico at the beginning of September. This is longest streak that I can remember of relaxed, sustained health. Maybe I should write a book and get a podcast.... oh wait! I did and co-host one! Just not at this moment lol. Need an agent...
05.10.2025 02:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Looking for some contributors to my Psychology Today blog! If you do research in psychosis, hallucinations, HiTOP, altered states, schizophrenia, and the like... let's talk! My DMs are open
15.09.2025 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Western medicine typically views anyone who admits to being told what to do by disembodied voices as suffering from psychosis. But that is not the case everywhere β so what can we learn from those who treat these hallucinations differently? www.bbc.com/future/artic...
09.09.2025 23:46 β π 8 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0When I was 14 during my first stay at a mental hospital, a girl my age with an infant said she checked herself in to get a break.
Sometimes we think the mental hospital is the place to get those breaks. But now I take those breaks through travel and feeling/looking my best with people I love.
In the past week I had 1 depressive episode, followed by a psychotic one, followed by hypomania, then depression for a day, now I am neutral. Throughout it all I managed to care for 4 dogs, cook dinner 4x a week, walk 15 miles. Im learning how to balance my once harrowing schizoaffective disorder.
03.09.2025 13:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Solo traveling is not always easy for people with a psychotic disorder. Excessive spending is so common with mania. I was finally able to responsibly save up for a fun trip without going into credit card debt! I carry my pill box at all times. Traveling with mental illness can be done!
03.09.2025 13:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Should I enjoy this nice 75 degree weather or re-read my memoir so I can launch into another depressive episode? My natural personality leans toward one more than the other, and it is the one that does not make any sense.
27.08.2025 18:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Our invited commentary on Andrea Raballo and colleagues discussion of our work on the revised ipseity-disorder model is now published. We clarify some potential misunderstandings and highlight outstanding issues in phenomenological self-disturbance research. Freely available through link below.
20.08.2025 20:05 β π 3 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0How come in all the reading and psychology studying and degree acquiring ive done no one has ever pointed me to Foucault's History of Madness. The hell? Do we not teach the postmodernist infiltration in science either? That was a joke. But seriously.
16.08.2025 01:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This week I had a major depressive episode. Walked 2 mi first. Couldn't move for the next 2 days, stayed up all night 1 day, read books, walked dogs 3 miles, and now today I feel in good spirits but im really bored. I feel like im not doing enough. Don't really know what all this means.

13.08.2025 20:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Identity writing is important because it exposes history's politics and the fight over land. Whose land we belong on, if any at all on this Earth? Sometimes we have no say. Immigrants only have America, the land of the free.
New essays of mine up.

Interesting paper!! I just wrote about ML helping to predict severe mental illness relapses or med changes but I am not a scholar and only know enough to talk to the public. This needs more exposure too
