The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP
You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670
Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem
If youβre angry about βyour moneyβ feeding people but not angry itβs giving tax cuts to the wealthy?
Youβre doing their dirty work.
I was given some wonderful seed garlic from my good friend at Take a Quack at It Mini Farm and it did so well. Home grown garlic tastes the best. So much flavour! If only I could grow everything so reliably.
01.11.2025 20:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you use the IWK, don't try the patient parkade. I spent 30 min trapped (no spots - tight turn around - at least 15 others in line). My 5yo and I (disabled) ended up running from Spring Garden, 15 min late after arriving 30 min early, and it cost more than before. A good idea with a crap plan.

02.10.2025 12:16 β π 14 π 6 π¬ 2 π 1Our neighbourhood only gets street cleaning a handful of times a year, and usually no earlier in the morning than garbage collection/ mail delivery/ neighbours with loud engines etc. so I've never noticed a problem. Does this happen a lot/ night time on the peninsula?

14.08.2025 12:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm heartsick for Nfld/Labrador. I grew up in CBS. In the 80s, if you were lucky, you'd get 3 or 4 days a year warm enough to use the kiddy pool if you dumped in a few buckets of hot water first. You'd never think Newfoundland needed more cool summer weather and fog, but please let there be rain.
14.08.2025 12:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm going with a solid E today. The world is a dumpster fire, but I still have to make sure the kids can eat and swim and spell stuff.

14.08.2025 12:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yup and housing issues are because of electric car chargers and wetlands.
14.08.2025 12:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The "Trump slump" quoted later in the article is a more accurate placement of blame/ cause and effect than the title tries to imply.

05.08.2025 12:44 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And after you go, be sure to remind politicians that our heritage is so vital to our national identity that we needed to use public funds, in times of crisis, for free access and so museums/ parks should not be facing drastic staffing cuts to make up a minuscule percentage of the federal budget.

22.07.2025 17:53 β π 8 π 10 π¬ 2 π 3In what may be a Canadian first, a human rights tribunal has affirmed the right of an immunocompromised person to seek workplace accommodations.
Disability advocates are praising the decision, saying it broadens the concept of accessible workplaces.

As a Canadian, I'd support it here. If you don't mind outdoor scenery, I hear York Redoubt might be available soon. I'll bring the donairs.

When the application to get CPP-D is basically a full-time job... you know... that thing you're too disabled to do.
Is it any wonder people fall victim to predatory services that file applications on your behalf while taking a huge percentage.

Just a thought, but our issues don't seem to be bike lanes.
22.07.2025 23:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Robie was a nightmare (in a section with no bike lanes) - construction. Quinpool was congested into the rotary (no bike lanes) - traffic merging into the right lanes last minute/poor design and signage and illegal stopping/ parking. Significant slow downs on Bay Road (no bike lanes) - construction.
22.07.2025 23:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Update: I traveled the full length of Morris today, late afternoon. The entire time, I encountered only 8 private passenger vehicles, 1 corporate vehicle, 3 public transit busses, 1 bike, and 2 scooters. There were 0 traffic delays or congestion issues.
