Every time I meet someone and they learn that I am in transportation, they say βyou need to fix congestion on so and so roadβ.
Every time my response is the same: βI have the solution, you just wonβt like it.β
Crickets following the exchange (also every time).
Balint to Noem: "You're the secretary of DHS -- for now. And you think you're immune from accountability. But I promise you this: one day he is not gonna be president anymore. And when that day comes, we will still be here. And in hearings like this, we are going to continue to prove your guilt."

By email. What if every one of you out there emailed this video to your local politicians, asked them to watch it, and asked them to explain if/how its truths have influenced smarter land-use and infrastructure decision-making in YOUR city?
Every one of you. #UrbanTruth

* the study did NOT say, one dose gives good protection forevermore, of course.
But our Ministry of Health based the schedule on that at the time, and then the govt gave up, removed masking from schools and health centres, didnβt mandate IAQ, and really who cares about kidsβ health anyway?!?! π€·π»ββοΈ
That is a great question for the previous Labour govt, who parked on an early study saying one dose gave good protection.*
NZ kids aged 5-15 get one dose. Not one dose per year, just one dose. Then a second dose at age 16. Then NOTHING AT ALL BETWEEN ages 16 and 30. Itβs completely fucked.
Right back at you!
04.03.2026 05:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Youβre preaching to the choir! New Zealand schools have a v different governance structure; it was v easy for the previous govt to say βno longer our problemβ and lump it on schools, which are not equipped to make public health decisions. Our kids are under vaccinated. Current govt doesnβt care.
04.03.2026 05:01 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm so, so tired of having to do this, J.
04.03.2026 04:50 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I should add I specifically mentioned the intense pressure from school and govt on attendance and how this absolutely pressures kids to return to school while still sick, and gave examples.

newest wave.
Parents, contact your kidsβ schools & push for comms & procedures to prevent illness spread at school and school events.
Does the idea make you uncomfortable? I get it, but think about how much better youβll feel if they take some positive action. Itβs worth it for your kidsβ health.
I got the new covid vaccine on Monday. My teens only have to wait another 11 and 13 years respectively until they can get another one in NZ. π€―
Afterwards I pushed the high school, yet again, for clear comms telling parents to keep symptomatic kids home from school and school activities, noting this
I think itβs the voice of someone who is beyond the state of being frustrated, flabbergasted and angry. You eventually get worn down to the inner layer of trying desperately to appeal to any sliver of humanity.
But still with a bit of the olβ anger.

explain how removing a bus lane does not in fact fix car congestion.
She doesnβt want *that kind* of feedback. Honestly, good grief.

lol. My local MP made up a survey to gather feedback about a new bus lane. Her original options were things like remove it or turn it into a bus and T2 lane. Oops she didnβt think to add βkeep it as isβ until ppl pointed it out. π
Now sheβs got results and has hidden my reply suggesting she
