My dad had shingles when I was a teen. I think he was probably right aroInd 50 and it was right over his eye. It’s the only time I remember him taking off work sick aside from when he had kidney stones. No thank you.

I’m a long way off but it’s on my radar for as soon as I’m old enough. Because I definitely don’t want shingles and I’m all for double benefit vaccines

2025 Writing Thoughts This year has been a lot. Looking back at the last twelve months or so, it's felt as though there wasn't one month that didn't have some sort of bad news. From my partner going through some job changes that—while not drastically disruptive—definitely meant some change, to dealing with medical issues, to family health problems and loss. We also had a minor car accident that took two months to deal with, and even as the year is closing out, my three-year-old cat needs dental surgery.

2025 has been a tough year, so I wrote some thoughts about it and my writing.

Is that med a permanent thing or do for so many cycles and you’re done? Because omg.

I was going to make banana bread but had to look up how heavy my stand mixer is. I can’t lift more than ten pounds right now so now I need to wait for my partner to come home so he can lift it 😭

I recently made my partner watch every episode and truth. There’s some content that doesn’t age well but overall still good

I had the alarm go off in my apartment building at like 2 am. I went to evacuate and someone in the stairwell said it was a false alarm.

I went back to my apartment, thought about it for a second, and decided to leave.

The storeroom of the bar below was indeed on fire.

Many years ago, I worked at a company where people would sit at their computers and keep working while the fire alarm rang. Only when they got an email telling them to evacuate would they leave.

Pretty sure it was a modified American test which makes more sense when you have a president for four years and much less sense when you can have a new prime minister at almost any point.

I’m confused by oil in rice

I may have to give up and plug them into the timer for at least a little bit in the evening to appease the small child.

We put our lights up outside last weekend, but did not plug them in. We intended to wait until at least after Remembrance Day.

Three nights this week, our lights have been plugged in.

Tonight, our outdoor Christmas lights were on.

I do feel like that is a very Yuri thing to do, making you cancel your movie viewing plans
