At IAA, the Indigeneity & Diaspora in Games Summit was created because real change must be rooted in empathy, relationship building, and honest reflection. Reconciliation is not symbolic. It is ongoing work in how we lead, invest, and build community.

Today on National Truth & Reconciliation Day, we mourn and reflect, holding space for the pain, trauma, and resilience of Survivors, families, and communities still healing from the legacy of residential schools. This is not a holiday, but a solemn reminder of colonialism’s lasting impact.
