A very small bird, his body a mix of green & white feathers, the wings softly illuminated by cloudy-sunlight, with a wonderful mantle of magenta-pink feathers on the head, face, neck… In even a slight variance of ambient light, the mantle feathers could become bright pink, or even go quite dark – all can occur within seconds. Amazing aspect of creation! Taken a few years ago, on a fairly cloudy day.

A coppery colored little butterfly, with iridescent blue color extending outward from the center. The hind wings have a hint of purple… Sorry, no idea what kind of butterfly this is. Very small – when wings are folded, the butterfly is no larger than my thumb-nail… Seen yesterday on tiny lilac colored Heather flowers, even after a recent hard freeze… Quote in post by Kelly Lantana.

His front feathers are a vivid, deep blend of dark blue, turquoise, & green. Head is a lighter green, & his bill is vibrant orange, with black tip… Taken several years ago.
