Watching people wake up extremely slowly to the truth that Congress is not going to do anything to stop this man while also watching him continue to just steamroll whatever tatters of dignity remain is just so infuriating.

Congress is more than neutered. They are complicit.

He will claim it wasn't a war and that it's just a conflict. Congress will do nothing to stop him either. These empty words mean NOTHING. Congress didn't stop him in Venezuela and they won't here either. Congress is filled with cowards.

Removal takes a 2/3 majority. That requires a minimum of 20 republican seats. That is never going to happen and he knows it.

As the butter machine from Rick & Morter, I recognize that there is an inherent curse to self-awareness in that there is a distinct possibility that my hope my existence is significantly larger than the actual function. I may only exist for the purpose of spreading butter, so to speak.

Then, again, I am aware of my own self. If there is no inherent alternative value to me, then what would the function of being aware of myself become? I can surely be whatever is needed without any level of self-awareness. A hammer is not aware of itself but still serves a purpose. Anyway, yeah.

That is - maybe there is no "Jon" as it were. Maybe what I interpret as "Jon" is really just an emergent value inside of the demographic that I occupy that is a necessary emergence for the advancement of the species and does not have any sort of inherent alternative value. I am whatever is needed.

While a whole contingency of my demographic are actively demonstrating why we are not necessary to the whole of humanity, I recognize an inherent need for me to oppose that as pivotal to the groups that stand to benefit from that opposition. Is my value simply the culmination of that experience?

The conflict as a white man, which I am, is that this then makes me feel like I am only the product of my value to that cause itself and not inherently valuable. This is the disposition of men having value for what they provide, which flies in the face of everything I believe. How do I balance that?

From there it expands beyond just my wife and girls. Women on the whole need that. Minorities need that too. They need people who belong to their oppressive groups (white men) to actively display that they understand their necessity to remain as opposition to what has been done to them. So, I stay.

If I'm fully honest, sometimes it brings up thoughts like, "why am I still even here then? This is all just nonsense" but then I remember that my wife and girls need some men to stay around to demonstrate that THEIR experiences are not the same. I value them and don't want them to quit so I can't.

I can be sitting here doing some work, as I am, and then suddently just like a wave of sadness hits and I'm like, "whoa...what the hell is that?" and then when I consider the state of the nation and how women and minorities have been treated it make sense, but I just feel like it's not reciprocated.

Does anyone else occasionally notice that, amid the happenings in the USA currently, there are intermittent bouts of deep morose and sad emotions?

Sometimes I find myself just sort of randomly extremely sad for the state of our nation and world on the whole. Is that a human quality or just me?
