anyway im thinking of posting here again, but on a separate PDS. because genuinely i like this site, ive enjoyed lurking and following people and seeing what everyone is up to! it's just that the mods and staff here are absolutely shit. so if im gonna use it, im not gonna be using bsky itself

what's it like being polyfrag? hi!! i'm vurren, and i'm the host of a plural system. basically, im just one person of many in my body im specifically part of a polyfragmented system! but what's that like? most systems have members called "fragments"—undeveloped parts that have very specific roles. they're not full headmates but are an important part of any system! however, polyfrag systems have a *lot* of them: we split easily and have complex system structures. we never developed any alternate coping methods in childhood other than dissociation, so our brain constantly makes new people to deal with feelings for us

at any given moment, we probably have several fully-formed headmates at or near front. however, we also have a large number of fragments in the background at all times helping deal with unseen functions. together, our efforts make up one (mostly) functional being fragments will constantly pipe up with a few words and then go back to doing internal functions (though our communication is just really good, so ymmv)

we have about 30 fully developed headmates and 200 identified fragments, though that number is probably much larger (as more pipe up and form every day). it's incredibly easy to split: watching new media or even just seeing a cool looking design is enough for our brain to decide we need a new person these fragments mostly hold very specific roles: even something like "positive feelings on this aesthetic" or "feelings on [show]" is enough of a reason for our brain it's quite jarring, and was scary at first, but we've gotten used to living with it

a lot of people think you need to have gone through something like RAMCOA (ritual abuse, mind control, & organized abuse) to be polyfrag but this isn't true at all! nothing like that happened to us anyway yeah!! this isn't meant to be a primer on polyfragmentation, im just bored and want to share some of my experiences because I feel a little lonely being the most fragmented system we know

literally. bsky is the only space i've found where, while sure there's still anti-kink idiots, i've felt like weird kinks are mostly accepted in the spaces i haunt (plural, alterhuman, furry). tumblr has been my long time home, but. Yeah no we all know tumblr is fucking shit in multiple ways.
