I started using a program called Rebelle, which simulates traditional painting very closely, you can see a lot of realistic paint strokes in the mountains especially.

@christopherpaolini.bsky.social, I never dreamed I would have the chance to work on them!

A lot of my favorite artists like Ruan Jia and Craig Mullins are shifting from concept art to illustration, which is very cool!

Also I think many artists go for the big name in movies and games, so much of their beautiful work is kind of wasted because we never get to see it. It's used as reference for the 3d artists but I wish some of them would focus on illustration and make that the end product.

The pay isn't higher in other industries actually, at least with what I am making. I am sure glad I am not in film or games right now because of how many layoffs there have been the past couple of years! Many of the top concept artists are unemployed right now
