"Misia," " pronounced "miz-ee-ah," is a Greek-derived suffix meaning hatred or hatred of. It serves as a more accurate alternative to the suffix "-phobia," which strictly denotes fear but is often used to describe hatred, thereby falsely misattributing a medical condition to hateful acts of prejudice and discrimination. Terms like transmisia (hatred of transgender people) and Islamomisia (hatred of Islam) use this suffix to highlight the "hatred at the root" of such harmful beliefs and systems. Why "misia" is preferred over "-phobia" Accuracy: "-Phobia" comes from the Greek word for "fear," whereas "-misia" directly translates to hatred"

We as a society would do better to be more precise in our language. Phobia means fear. It isn’t about fear, it’s about hate. Misia is a more apt term when discussing the hated of groups based on identities.

The anticipatory compliance across higher ed is not shocking. Academia has always sided with maintaining the status quo in support of stocking the coffers with the resources of the donor class.

Colleges and universities are just another industrial complex looking to amass wealth and power on the backs of the working class, using the rhetoric of intellectual freedom and scientific advancement to convince the public that they are a beacon of hope for change and possibility.

And hand over the name of potential campus activist in hopes of keeping or increasing access to federal funding.

Thank you for your service especially during such trying and violent times.

Higher ed showed their hand in 2020. Academia is dedicated to preserving the status quo for those with the most resources. Everyone else are seen as profit centers that are expendable. Higher ed ain’t going to save no one but themselves. It time for the populace to take the reins.
