For sure. It is wild to imagine what the season would have been with 'no idols' and 'limited advantages' but I guess they would have just played it straight! With regret for putting it in our hands I think.

I mean clearly they counted the votes and then designed the twists, right? So had the vote gone another way, that element would have been entirely different. But I think to be honest the questions were designed such that they got the answers they wanted

(Just to explain the mechanic a little more, the zombie cats eat corpses to heal 6hp. While on my team, it didn't register Gwendle as a team-mate because she was dead. It just looooves to eat corpses)

But what I do have, is the story to tell. And I bet you the next run provides me with something equally worth talking about.

The fighter fell, then the hunter, then my zombie cat, and finally, three turns later, Mince.
Jealousy had taken him. He'd seen Gwendle's game-breaking power and wanted a taste, but his gifts had outstretched a rotten paw.
Hubris. Regret. Shame.
I returned home with no cats and no Persuasion Device.

...and on its first turn, the zombie cat walked over and ATE GWENDLE'S GOD DAMNED CORPSE.
I sat there, stunned. This was a second turn of Mince not healing, so my fighter and hunter were also bleeding out. They were surrounded by werecats now. The numbers were overwhelming.

Werecats surrounded Gwendle and knocked her out. This was bad: no Persuasion Device, no new expendable minion, but as long as her body survived the battle, she'd be back for the next one. Lucky, I thought, that Mince could do her job now. Triumphantly, mince brought back that dead cat as a Zombie...

We spawned right next to a cat corpse. Amazing! I didn't even need to kill an enemy to raise a new party member. Mince idled a turn, not healing Gwendle and not moving far from the corpse to save mana and afford the spell on turn 2. But I lost tempo. Mince was my healer. The cats were getting hit!

We'd hit The Boneyard, the final stage of the adventure, when it happened. Mince levelled up and was offered a new ability: raise a dead enemy with full health, on your team. For 12 mana. I could have a double Gwendle! Mince had made it! I took the power, cackling, and leapt into the next battle.

He could heal others at expense to his own health. He made a lot of leeches, but they paled in comparison to Gwendle's additions to the team. He even had an invulnerable metal fly to further distract the baddies. I regularly had a ten-strong team! But it wasn't enough. Mince was jealous of Gwendle.

The build worked incredibly right from the off. The fighter/hunter combo provided distractions and crowd control as Gwendle bamfed across the map turning naughties to the side of good. Within two battles I knew this was a winning run.
Mince, however, was lagging.

The rest of the party, I built to support that. A chunky fighter who attacked out of reflex every time he took damage, a hunter who could deal damage to that fighter, triggering his attack up to five times per turn, and a Necromancer, Mince, who spawned a lot of leeches all over the place.
