Billie Eilish Calls on Billionaires to Support People in Need: 'No Hate, But Give Your Money Away' Billie Eilish donates $11.5 million from 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' tour to charity and calls on billionaires to support people in need during hard times.

I don't see a lot of people talking about this, so I want to highlight something GOOD

Billie Eilish stood in a room full of billionaires and said "you're billionaires... Why?"

She donated 11.5 MILLION DOLLARS to food equity and climate orgs, which Stephen Colbert announced to said billionaires.

If you are looking for ways to help your community, it is a good time to donate to your local food bank if you can.

My understanding from those who do this work is that $$ is the most effective donation at the moment, since food banks have existing relationships that can stretch your donation.

Donate money to your local food bank and check out your local animal shelter to see if they have a free pet pantry then donate to that too! It may seem silly to donate to animals in such dire times but helping people keep their pets in a time of need is a very good thing!

Seattle: Our tea house will begin accepting donations on 10/29. We will make weekly dropoffs with Northwest Harvest, but if you are in our area and in need, you are welcome to take directly from the donations bin for yourself as well. We won’t be policing your need.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have friends struggling through the shutdown, consider inviting them over for a family dinner this week. Make too much. Insist they take leftovers home. Some folks can't say they need help out loud but will appreciate the kindness.

At the food pantry I volunteer at we were absolutely swamped today and by many first timers. We ran out of whole categories of food. Please donate cash to your local organization if you at all can.
