If you didn't otherwise see them mentioned by Keith here at some point, that would mean that your runner did not finish loop 1 (assuming that they did in fact start).

21.03.2025 02:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Your best public source will be @taka-does-stuff.bsky.social spreadsheet and Mahoney's Barkley web page. Frozen Ed's book if you are looking for older info.
21.03.2025 02:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In this aspect, Barkley is somewhat like "Fight Club" - The first rule about "Fight Club" is you don't talk about "Fight Club". Most Barkers will be rather stingy with who and what info they share. It is part of what keeps Barkley, "Barkley".
21.03.2025 00:00 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The #bm100 ethos has always been that you don't out another runner publically - that is up to them to decide to do themselves. Any runner posting the list public in its entirety would likely be frowned upon by laz and not invited back. They are free to share whatever they want privately, of course.
20.03.2025 23:51 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0No, there never is. The #bm100 runners entered each get a list of who is entered but many years, even that is not 100% authoritative due to last minute changes.
The only 100% complete accounting is laz's timing/scoring sheet that he keeps closely guarded, not allowing anyone to look at/study.
Great info, thanks! Can you DM me when you get a chance?
19.03.2025 19:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do you know when was the last time they started w/ the traditional CW, CW loops? If loop 2 was CCW this year, that could explain why there was so much carnage...
19.03.2025 18:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0However, for John and Tomo specifically, although the potential impacts of sleep deprivation will be at play, they have enough exposure and familiarity with going CCW at #bm100 so that will be less of an impact on them compared to most others.
19.03.2025 18:36 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Further compounding #bm100 CCW nav issues is the brain fog that anyone still in it is beginning to experience due to sleep deprivation. They may not ever be "lost" per se, but the slow down in reaction/decisions starts to accumulate when time is already at a premium. As the sun fades, it's worse.
19.03.2025 18:23 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0With few exceptions, the historical norm for #bm100 loop directions has been CW, CW, CCW, CCW, choice(alternating).
Unless someone knows otherwise for sure loop 3 is likely CCW; this can be trickier to navigate since over time loops 1 and 2 have the most collective firsthand experience.
Well, they could have been a bit more civil and just muted you, lol. π
19.03.2025 17:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The befuddlement this conflicting self-quoted exchange projects is peak and quintessential #bm100 info confusion.
*tip of the hat and chef's kiss*
AT may have actually thought that when he lost his mind out there. His epic #bm100 report is a great read if you haven't already:
www.mattmahoney.net/barkley/2005...
Adding context - the #bm100 Garden Spot is one of the outmost "corners" of the course so there is typically a book there. It is also very close to 1 of the 2 water drops at Coffin Spring which I posted a photo of earlier. There are easy "quitters trails" back to camp from there that many opt for.
19.03.2025 13:31 β π 18 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Lol, that is a well trodden #bm100 path, particularly for a virgin.
19.03.2025 13:06 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And to answer mom, physically, nobody has ever died out there at #bm100... mentally and emotionally, well that's another story altogether.
19.03.2025 12:50 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Not only that, this isn't the first time that has happened at #bm100
19.03.2025 12:30 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At #bm100, nothing is ever the same even when it's supposed to be
19.03.2025 12:27 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That how Davey rolls...
18.03.2025 23:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0True. Probably not so much this year...it doesn't look like it will be cold enough, long enough.
18.03.2025 23:25 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Historically there have been 2: Coffin Spring and the Fire Tower at the top of Rat Jaw.
18.03.2025 22:42 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Welcome to #bm100 and enjoy your stay!

Yes, also of note - This was the first year of "big media" coverage.
The photographer behind Davey was there with Eli Saslow for the @washingtonpost.com
Eli's fairly extensive piece ran on the front page, top of fold in the Sunday edition of the Washington Post in April that year.
Apparently nobody knows anyone anymore... π
18.03.2025 20:58 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Yes, 07 was Flyin' Brian's year
The white tent is Kawalski's, I think, which has been in camp for 10+ yrs
laz had 2 blue plastic tarps - one you see in the background that was angled over a picnic table and the other covered the bed of his old, late 40's or 50's Willies pickup truck where he slept
Well - 18 years ago anyway. No beard and a completely shaved head.
And that's one other thing of note, just not that many people. At Conch +24hrs or so, everyone was gone.
Yes, so that was 2012
18.03.2025 20:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To the left, in the long brown duster w/ the fedora is laz. #bm100
18.03.2025 19:42 β π 15 π 0 π¬ 4 π 0That is the #bm100 gate, but yes, they did change the sign. Not sure when that happened but someone here will figure that out! π
