its a really peculiar thing in that it IS a cynical project that is aping popular trends for children. but it is also not phoned in, and isn't a cheap cash grab. there is a lot of effort, thought, and genuine attempts at art. if i had to compare it to anything i would say its like 50's pulp comics

i don't like poppy's playtime as thing to consume, but by as pop culture object within its context. it is incredibly fascinating from an anthropological perspective

finally digging my teeth into blasphemous II and its been incredible, but still really do not like the animated cutscenes. While they are very well done, the painted sprite animated cutscenes of the first game was so distinctive and evocative. you really lose so much of the atmosphere without them
