Whelp, we're certainly getting more hints as to why the Prince with the Black wife had to flee racism from his own family.

You are the company you keep.

Copyright is stupid

Book title: Mine-finders, published 1925
Author dies: 1939
Illustrator dies: 1972
Book enters public domain in Canada: 2043

THAT'S ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN YEARS AFTER IT WAS PUBLISHED.

Copyright is Stupid

And it was Trump who made it worse

Dear Canada,

This is a pretty good time to entirely halt using the imperial measurement system, since we were only using it to be friendly and polite.

METRIC RULES!

What we need to do is allow for direct imports from Asian automakers. Honda is releasing an electric tinyvan for around 15 grand. Can we import it? NO. Will Honda release one in Canada? NO. Why? Cause north americans are used to getting shoved into the biggest vehicle they can convince us to buy

Hey, been awhile, missed your writing (2 years since I got kicked off King Free Speech Elon's Shitter for...speaking freely)

Just remember- the Fords were Donald Trump BEFORE Donald Trump was Donald Trump. The proto-Trumps, as it were.

I quite honestly think there's an income cap for being a functional human being with a conscience. One dollar over that cap and become entirely empathy free.

A little work (because Librarians prefer accurate information) and a little political:

This is a good day for Librarians to spotlight Canadian literature, Canadian films, Canadian music, Canadian tv. It's pretty damn good.

I'm trying to stick mainly to work related things here but can we all remind ourselves that none of this could have happened without hipster doufus Jack Dorsey.

Hey Librarians - this is a good time to dust off and promote your copies of Upton Sinclair's The Jungle (there are endless copies on the @archive.org as well).

Sending a little love to the @fda.gov today.

Starbucks argues that the "collective" part of collective bargaining should not exist. Maybe each individual barista should negotiate their own wage, and then we'd have single picketers marching around.

*snort* that would be the "collective" in collective bargaining, geniuses. I guess they'd prefer that each individual barista negotiate their own salaries, benefits and working conditions......oh wait.

BIG yes. I'm all about going back to 26 years past date of publication. Rights past author's death were to take care of the widows, in a time when women were way less likely to be able to be earners.

Only about 13% of the books published in Canada 1920-60 are in print anyways, so WHAT royalties?
