During a deadly year for ICE detention, man dies at Michigan’s newest facility A Bulgarian man being held at a Michigan detention facility was the seventh person this month to die in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.

"The American Immigration Council attributes this rise to a record high of 65,735 people being held in ICE detention. This has reportedly led to overcrowding, poor conditions and medical neglect at facilities throughout the country."
