But what βfactβ could justify questioning someoneβs citizenship? The answer is obvious: race, national origin, or an accent.
And the premise behind this lawβthat non-citizens are votingβis especially dangerous right now.

In South Dakota, anyone can now challenge your citizenship with a county auditor or the Secretary of State in an attempt to stop you from voting. The challenge must supposedly be based on βfacts.β
