Delighted that the Government has committed to removing the two-child limit. But let's not be complacent - this was essential but not enough. Need to keep pushing for policies that give ALL children the opportunity to thrive and not just survive.

Rumours swirling that Government may try to avoid fully scrapping 2 child limit by changing it to a 3 child limit, only lifting it for some groups or giving lower support to 3rd and subsequent children. Helpfully @resfoundation.bsky.social already crunched the numbers, finding that...1/4

There's no point publishing a child poverty strategy that doesn't include lifting the 2 child limit. It's the single biggest driver of child poverty, which will continue to rise as long as it's in place. All the other good stuff can't counter such a strong driver.

Our latest @crsp-uk.bsky.social report for @jrf-uk.bsky.social, out today, paints a stark picture for households on low-to-middle incomes, for whom benefits and earnings still leave them far short of a minimum living standard. Hear more from @mattpadley.bsky.social below.

Delighted to give evidence to Work and Pensions Committee on pensioner poverty. Report says "retirement should be dignified and not a struggle at the poverty line." @jrf-uk.bsky.social and @crsp-uk.bsky.social's Minimum Income Standard measures this. What do the stats show? It's not good news (1/4).

Childhood immunisations are one of the most powerful and effective public health interventions of all time. We used to take them from granted but not anymore. Conspiracy theory, wars, poverty and systems collapse put them at risk. We must keep shouting about their importance.

It shouldnβt be harder to make ends meet at the end of your life. But many people are pushed into poverty after a terminal diagnosis.
Always shocked by the number of people dying in poverty in the UK - 111,000 in 2023, up from 90,000 in 2019 - higher risk for working age people, women, black minorities, North East, Wales @drjulietstone.bsky.social @helenbarnard.bsky.social @mariecurieeolc.bsky.social #MCResearch2025 bit.ly/42UPfpK
