Macro analyses are going to be very interesting, but I think this is going to help the larger understanding of exactly why and how hitters are different from one another. My suggestion: use this as a way to describe how the best hitters are versatile

If you find yourself wondering how to incorporate the Statcast bat path data into player by player analyses, you should read my last few years of writing. These data concepts are folded into how I think about hitting. My blog roll at @fangraphs.com has basically been a journal of my hitting thoughts

Ben Rice Has Built a Strong Foundation During His Limited Time The combination of the rookie’s swing decisions and above-average contact quality make his future promising.

Think this held up pretty well from August. That boy nice

Does anybody know a physicist I can work with on trying to figure out if the torpedo bats are going to break any differently from other bats

Guys who rely on a narrower band of contact points therefore have more opportunity for whiffs or mishits

You can do this regardless of what your bat speed is, as long as you have the upper body mobility. However, if you can do this AND have + bat speed, odds are you’re one of the best hitters in baseball. Think Judge, Ohtani, AcuΓ±a, Soto.

26.03.2025 18:36 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Having success with deep contact points isn’t only related to + bat speed. You need to create positive attack angles earlier on in the swing, ie have good barrel depth.
