No love lost for Maduro, and no apologies made for his regime. But the attack on Venezuela was plainly illegal. States can either say so clearly, or parse their way into a law of boundless exceptions and self-judgment.

En su acusación contra Maduro et al., el Dept de Justicia se refiere al Cartel de los Soles como un "sistema de mecenazgo", ya no un cartel; y no menciona al "fentanilo", que ha sido la excusa para los ataques en el Caribe. justice.gov/opa/media/14...

Otra cosa es acreditar hechos ante un tribunal.

Al hacerlo, debilita su posición ante la corte en NY. Si Edmundo González es, según EEUU, el presidente, ¿por qué reconoce e interactúa con Delcy Rodríguez? Ella es jefa de Estado y sucesora legal de Maduro. Sin quererlo, EEUU está dando razones a favor de la inmunidad de Maduro.

El tema clave en el juicio contra Nicolás Maduro es si goza de inmunidad como jefe de Estado. EEUU dice que no, dado que no reconoce su "legitimidad" (no lo hace Trump, tampoco lo hizo Biden).

Hay un problema, sin embargo: EEUU parece reconocer a Delcy Rodríguez como presidenta.
