I checked out a new queer vampire film, but sadly this one didn’t do much for me. The reliance on pop adjacent songs as a soundtrack was so distracting, it essentially ruined the movie.

Now that I’m back from Fantasia, I finally got around to checking out Lionsgate’s 4K release of Bill Paxton’s directorial debut FRAILTY.

Unsurprisingly it holds up!

I have such fond memories of Sundance’s ANATOMY OF A SCENE.

It taught me a ton about the technical elements and thought process that goes into the smallest details of a production.

I guess YouTube vids have taken this over, but it was nice to have the crew’s insight recorded for posterity.

One of the best Canadian films I saw at @fantasiafestival.com was Chloé Cinq Mars’s Peau à Peau (or NESTING) about a new mom struggling with postpartum.

A fantastic lead performance and really harrowing imagery. You *will* worry about the baby in this film!
