It took a good hour or two in the morning to get my mom looking the way she wanted to before church, and we had to work together to create this "normal looking woman" for YEARS before she couldn't even drive to church, which was only 15 minutes away, but when you're body is fighting you?

So when people accuse me of being conservative, right-wing, or something other than "no one SHOULD EVER have to suffer through that, EVER" as my political stance? I get more than a little incensed.

Don't get me wrong, my dad wasn't a bad guy, my sister just hated the fact that mom was dying and couldn't hang, so I had a lot of work to do. All things come together. It hurt. It sucked. Not a fan.

My mother fought cancer for a decade, on and off. Chemotherapy will take your hair, your weight, and your ability to just do things. So I had to learn how to do her makeup when her hands stopped working.

I'm asking people to respect the labor that goes into every kind of art. If you are still reading this thread? It's time to talk about cancer.

Why would anyone expect an acknowledgment of exceptional skill to be considered a "compliment," exactly? Walk up to Michaelangleo and be all "Wow, that's a really good painting!" and then expect some sort of acknowledgment of the fact you have EYES? I am NOT comparing myself to Michelangelo,

(My penmanship at the time was WAY better, and I used like seven of those papers where your cursive has a framework work so...yeah look, it was a good school okay?)

Next day, she said it was amazing, it was above and beyond, and very good writing. But what she DID NOT DO was use isolating language; she didn't compel the other students to do better because they were bad; she just said I went above and beyond. She put it in a wee book for the other kids to read
