Honestly, I thought it was bigfoot walking down the road with his back to us and putting his thumb out. I had to closely to realize it was a buffalo :D

I think maybe some updates around the ATProtocol - interesting apps that people are creating with it that kind of thing? The contrast between it and activitypub. One of our themes this year is digital sovereignty. So it could fall under that.

I looked that up, yes - I would not want to see you suffer needlessly if May is a bad time. Usually, we have it in April but we were delayed.

Maybe you might know someone who could maybe represent you all? Just looking to get some good attendance and push for interesting apps.

I expect @radiofreetom.bsky.social to do his usual commentary for the #SOTU. Nobody does a more entertaining job than he does. I expect a good show, sir!

I don't know if you're berlin based but we have "Linux App Summit" in Berlin on May 16th - 17th. Our CFP is going to be opening soon, would love to see a talk from you on ATProtocols. linuxappsummit.org - we've been doing this for ten years now. :) Great way to meet some KDE and GNOME folks.

That just means that liberal women will become a even larger voting bloc and republican women will have no representation, the number of republicans voting will also take a dive. Middle aged to older women form the activist block of both political parties.

and not be able to vote for yourself. They think there is an exception for them, but as they found with ICE - there is no exception.

This of course increases the political power of liberal women while destroying the idea that women must take their husbands name. The FAFO moment will be glorious.

the outcome is that women will want to keep their power. So they will instead not take their husband's name if it will endanger their ability to vote. Certainly, liberal women will do this.
This bill also reduce the political power of republican women. Imagine if you are a woman senator/congressman

#FOSSY call for papers got announced. But I'm a bit leary going to Canada. Not because I'm worried about Canada, but it seems like the U.S. border control guards at the border are much worse than at the airports. If you're gonna get screwed over it will be there. This is speaking as a citizen […]

I get the feeling that open source is not as big of a topic here on bluesky as it is on mastodon. Bluesky seems to be where all the politics have gone.

The hilarious thing is that what they'll pay is maybe even paying the tax for a few years. Plus giving money to grifters who will suck it all in. At least paying this tax will help the economy and get them more money.

This is such an interesting thread as it exposes the friction between ATProtocol/ActivityPub. Clearly, there are some cultural issues.

It's important to understand and I say this often to our own desktop projects - we are always […]

Interestingly enough, these rich folks will spend more money to try to defeat this than paying the tax.

Considering that maps that make districts red by dilution also means that Texas can't play the same tricks with closing voting stations like before. In a time when every person blames the GOP for the current economic crisis, those maps won't save them.

eh? I don' t think Gen Z and Gen Alpha (if tehy are able to afford car + insurance) want that kind of styling. Like why? Plus, nobody is going to create separate tooling when the rest of the world is electrifying. Only old GenX/Boomers have this nostalgia.

I've been playing around with LLMs and all this MCP stuff. I created an agentic workflow that connects @planifyapp, evolution and so on. It's pretty rad. It improved my productivity.

But, I find LLMs to be very fragile. If you change the LLM or update the LLM the flows break. I don't know how […]
