Sponsorship not in your budget? Have attendees who visit with you at the event opt in on-site. (This is good practice, anyway.) Follow up on conversations personally, to thank them for their interest and their time.

Rather, look into a promotion package to sponsor email the event host sends, with a link to a landing page that greets those attendees and that encourages them to opt into your own list. Create a list segment to send them relevant messaging going forward.

Attending trade shows and/or other events this year? Don't fall for spammy emails from random.list.seller.1337@gmail.com (or whatever) offering to sell you an attendee list. Even if some emails in the list are valid, you risk getting flagged for spam if you send cold (and especially bulk) emails. 🧵

Email deliverability issues?

MXToolbox has a helpful (and free) service. Send an email to ping@tools.mxtoolbox.com and get a link to a report with analysis of your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Resend an email a few hours or so after you've corrected DNS records to confirm the fix.
