I am genuinely curious about this. What are the construction costs and sales prices per/sq ft in NS? In Seattle I have heard $800/sq ft all-in for high rise construction, which is unaffortable for most.

Are there passenger trains on these lines being upgraded for freight? Or a separate freight network?

Don't you have mesh window screens? Do you the bugs get through them anyway?

If you can walk your bike up the first block, the rest of Graham to 35th isn't so bad. I love the bike crossing at 35th.

In our political economy, perhaps the best way to get upzoning and urban construction is to build rail. Set up a spine for the structure of future density to follow.

Today, right? (New middle housing code)

It just shows the region is fully invested in TOD, and how much the Great Recession crashed the suburban growth machine.

I've been on a lot of suburban freeways around Seattle lately, and about the only visible changes over 20 years are at Sound Transit stations (or Native casinos). Lynnwood, Totem Lake, Spring District, downtown Kent and Auburn, etc. Everywhere else is static.

Beautiful warm day up at Mount Rainier, not a cloud in the sky, 77° and snow.

When I first visited it, the Overlook Walk seemed lifeless and dull compared to the rest of the Market. But during a visit this week, I loved how several pop-up carts had opened.

Had that on my phone for 3 days and never fare checked once. 😀Geneva's transit is perfect for a city that size. Identical onboard experience whether a bus, trolleybus or tram, everything flows seamlessly. Onboard screens even show real-time arrivals for connecting transit lines at upcoming stops.

7. Finally, the 1 Line downtown to Lynnwood completely feels like a global subway. 5 minute frequencies next year will be perfect.

6b. I also complain about Streetcar frequency, but if the City fixes the traffic treatments, the current vehicles could provide double/triple the frequency.

6a. The Seattle Streetcars could be useful transit if the City chose to give them priority over cars at intersections. SLU spends more time at lights than moving!
