I have *a* caddy but I don't know if it will work with this SSD. The issue is more that I tried removing the case in the past for another laptop, to retrieve a loose screw, and doing so made the laptop no longer functional. So I'm not about to do it again even with a brand new screwdriver

Today I will contact the doctoral people and ask about emergency IT support. Hopefully it will turn out to be the charger or something easily fixed.
