Mike Johnson has incorrectly claimed the President wants to feed people but legally he couldnβt.
Now 2 judges have ruled USDA can legally use emergency funds.
I canβt understand why this administration continues to fight the release of SNAP funds.

The Trump Administration already has the authority, the legal means and the money to fund SNAP in November.
Join me tonight for a live conversation. @ctmirror.orgβs Lisa Hagan will moderate a Q&A with your questions about the government shutdown.

The refusal to stabilize SNAP is a policy choice. I joined @lauracoates.com to discuss how the Trump Administration & USDA have the full authority and contingency funds necessary to ensure there is no lapse in SNAP benefits in November.

I joined CT AG William Tong to announce a lawsuit filed by 25 states & DC over the Trump administrationβs refusal to release almost $6B in emergency funds so families wonβt see SNAP benefits interrupted starting Nov. 1st. I am grateful to live in a state that fights for our residents at every level.

House Democrats held another Steering & Policy hearing this week to gather testimonials from those who will be impacted if ACA tax credits are allowed to expire.
The urgency is clear and the time to negotiate is now.
The Hub Project & Unrig Our Economy hosted a call to break down the impact of the gov. shutdown. ACA tax credits, WIC, SNAP & public trust were discussed. Participants expressed fear, frustration & legitimate concern over what would happen if they lost insurance coverage or cuts to vital programs.

This administration would rather bail out Argentina, than make sure Americans have access to affordable healthcare. Apparently we have the moneyβ¦. itβs the will thatβs lacking. Let that sink in.
