This was def not my choice fyi. I took my car to the dealership for service and they laid off their shuttle driver and got a contract with ub3r, which sent that death trap. 🙄

My first impression riding in a tesIa. It's got the suspension of a shopping cart. Rides so rough I can pretty much feel the paint in the crosswalk when the wheels roll over. Also dirty looks from everyone else who isn't also driving one. Can't imagine why. 🙃

I know that it can serve racism to say this but I also say this w/r/t other identities involving gender and sexuality that apply to me. It seems like the ruling elite will always find people of a given ID/demographic that agrees w/them. Why not do politics and diversify political persuasions?

I guess we'll never know. But I know for damn sure people were put out of their homes due to coastal flooding in December and these fires will put out thousands so maybe we start looking at displacement from housing as an environmental issue and not a carceral one.

I just sit & think sometimes about the state/city resources put into sweeps & absolutely tormenting the poor. And then I wonder how our situation might be different if, even not helping homeless folks but just leaving them alone & working on disaster mgmt.

I'm am very worried for the average person losing their homes. I think if Pacific Palisades rebuilds again, they will likely have their own private fire fighters, which was made illegal in the 1800s b/c they would sabotage other brigades to win contracts.

Pacific Palisades: 83% white, six figure annual incomes. This is one of the richest subdivisions in the entire world. This fire is really scary and compromises a lot of California's ability to be insured at all.

It's always hard when someone who was kind to you but deeply upsetting for other reasons passes.

I just got off a month of Kaiser's clerical slip-up that left me without care. I emailed my doctor yesterday asking for a referral & got a clearly AI generated response with links to "self-management" advice & a broken telehealth appt portal. I've been self-managing while paying in full for a month!

This isn't the only country where this is happening and it's super insidious the way it's slipped into everything.
