A feature on myself and Danny in the local Brecon (where we lived) paper when our ‘But We Have The Music’ album was released in 2003 and the first Green Man Festival was a month or so away from taking place.

‘Pacific Street’ The Pale Fountains released Feb 1984. I heard it a few years later when Bluetrain drummer, Kev, introduced me to it. I taped my album, along with The Style Council & New Order. Swimming at the reservoir down The Hatches. Tape player always with me. Music, laughter, sun & freedom. ❤️

I had tickets to see Sparklehorse at The Astoria when this wonderful album was released in 1995. Then my band got a gig on the same night at the 100 Club. We walked down after our sound check and sold them, then played a pretty underwhelming gig ourselves and I never did get to see them.

This album was released on 20 Feb 1984. I remember hearing The Smiths for the first time. It was while in the car, listening to the singles’ chart run down in Oct 1983, ‘This Charming Man’. Time stood still. I thought it was fabulous. I missed ‘Hand In Glove’, their debut single. Later also a hit.
