we have considered launching other niche interest 'products' under one subscription fee, but the sticking point is obv you need cash to build stuff. At small scale the answer is still just core readers who like you a lot

yeah or just old-school, really useful websites. You pay a fee for a digital home for everything in your niche interest. I think this is key to why NYT is so healthy

I think as discovery continues to be eviscerated, getting core readers onto insular platforms is probably the way forward. It's just difficult for indies :-(

I continue to find LLMs terrifying, fascinating, and full of potential for good. I continue to find every system used to create, harness, promote, market, monetize or otherwise disseminate them astonishingly stupid and evil.
