Increasing the capacity of the prison estate to meet demand - NAO report This report examines HM Prison and Probation Service and the Ministry of Justice progress in expanding and maintaining the prison estate.

As a society we need to really think about this prison demand. Why do we choose to send so many people to prison? What are we trying to achieve? We could reduce reoffending and save money if we used prison less.
