man i'm tired

my thoughts while i was working on this piece is in the alt text, for whoever wants to read it

like paint, each stroke is vibrant and new. lively for a long period of time. though, also like paint, it eventually dries out. the paint hardens and loses its shine of color. it had been something that had been bothering me for a while, and i decided to interpret it like painting a wall full of old memories. in the past 6 or so years, i've met many wonderful people who were important to me. and as i am a sensitive person by heart, i find it nearly impossible to move on from the people i loved. though this year made me realize how far behind i was. many of the people i knew have completely moved on, others i had lost contact with. it felt like i was the only person who hadn't moved on yet, that it was my own fault for not being able to be there for them all the time. i used to always think that if i did something different back then, would it change? could i still be friends with them? sometimes, i still think about it. it's painful having to look down on yourself. though eventually, i also found a small group of people to talk to. a similar feeling, but never the same. so after much thought, i thought about finally moving on to focus on them. that perhaps, it was finally time to close that paint lid and start a new color on a new wall. many of you may not know me. I'm only a person who takes art as a hobby and a person who is changing. and as i have been changing, i've grown to be busier and more private. looking back at this reminds me of how i once was. and i loved myself. but for those few who do know me, it truly was a tough journey that was in need of a proper closing. so thank you for once being my friend who lit up my life during my worst. if it was possible to be acquainted again, i'd love to catch up on the little things. it is time for some things to rest, and for me to improvise on what to do from here on out. - mitz.
