Of course there are cabinet nominees accused of abusing women and children. Of course there are. That is to be expected now. It might even be a badge of honor.
Of course there are cabinet nominees with zero qualifications for the job. Another badge of honor, apparently.

When the voting public then decided to re-elect the P-word grabber - even after being found liable for sexual abuse in a court of law (so much for law and order), and liable for massive fraud - again - the permission structure became the social norm.

When the voting public chose to ignore that all three Supreme Court Justices appointed in the last administration lied in their confirmation hearings about "stare decisis", the permission structure expanded to a level of power and control over women that should terrify everyone.

When the voting public decided to re-elect the same senators who confirmed a Supreme Court Justice who had been accused of sexual assault, the permission structure expanded.
