One of my favorite sports stories in recent years, when Sister Jean's beloved men's basketball team made it to the Final Four in 2018.

How disappointing. Couldn't schools teach at least one book from the 21st century? I read all but one of these in the 1990s. One thing I have looked forward to as a parent is reading new school books with my son, not having "The Great Gatsby" forced on me AGAIN. (I read it twice. Despised it twice.)

Something about this one, heavy with the voice of a brave 14-year-old named Amelia Moore, really got to me, though. I’ve mused about whether Pope Leo XIV will remain an American citizen and whether he can vote in U.S. elections. One thing that didn’t cross my mind but should have: Will he still have to file taxes?

The Red Sox game/Boston Marathon-watching doubleheader has been a sports dream of mine for decades. I'm so excited to do this Monday.
For those not from Boston, you may wonder, "Why baseball before noon?" Some background here: www.bostonglobe.com/2025/04/17/s...
The Blue Jackets have had seasons that were more successful. They’ve had other seasons that ended on inspiring, positive notes.
But this particular iteration of Columbus will not fade from the collective consciousness anytime soon.
