PSA: Holes appearing in blouses, shirts and dresses - around your waist?
My wife has worked it out.
So far she has solved the mystery for 5 friends.
It’s not moths.
It’s not the washing machine.
It’s sharp edges on the kitchen work surface.
We fixed ours with clear sellotape.
No thanks required 😉

Spot on Andy. Maybe if everyone pointed that the bigger bully is controlling the local (US) bully and so not so strong after all. He wouldn’t like that would he?

Is it too obvious (or is it naive) for everyone to suggest that Trump is acting like Putin’s poodle. He’s trying to act as a (bullying) leader but the whole world can see he is not doing anything other than Putin’s bidding. Not so much a leader as a lackey.

Could one reason that NF and BJ have that (alleged) magic touch that they can say what they want. They don’t need to get anyone else’s permission to speak or express opinions. Very different I think to Labour, The Greens or even Tories and LibDems.

I thought Matt would be irreplaceable and much missed. But no. You’re doing a fabulous job and I can’t even recall his surname. 😉

Highly recommend the Tim Burton exhibition at London’s Design Museum in Kensington High Street.
So absorbing, amazing and impressive.
We loved it - and took 90 minutes to get round everything.
Recommended!

Thus week on the Accountingfun.co.uk blog
A baker’s dozen of films that might have been about tax evasion.
Any more?

Can’t recall where I heard about tv series ‘Mrs Davis’
I’m watching episode one. What the hell is going on?
We start in 1307 with the Templars, then a man rescued after living on a desert island alone for ten years. His rescuers are guided and supported by an AI. Then a car crash. Then a nunnery!

And just think for a moment about the earnings level required to generate an additional £35k pa NICs charge 🤣😂

Oops. There’s a touch of clarity deep in the ST article but this is SO misleading:
PWC “will be paying about £35,000 more for each of its partners as a result of the [Budget]”
Er, No. Employers’ NICs are not paid by self employed partners 🙄

How distinct or common is your name?
The FCA suffix I use on here and on LinkedIn distinguishes me from the many thousands of other Mark Lee’s around.
There’s over 6,000 of us on LinkedIn!

Slowly finding my way around Bluesky.
1 - Threads discussing topical issues
2 - Lists of people to follow
3 - posts naming people I check out and might follow
4 - Following more journalists than any other group at the moment. Bound to change.
Isn’t it great? No toxicity (so far) 👍👌👏🏼

Following the advice I’ve been giving accountants for YEARS.
1 - Set realistic objectives for SOCIAL media.
2- Be social rather than promotional. Few prospects will see or be inspired by your business posts
3 - Make your profile engaging and distinct rather than a version of your business card

Who to follow?
I been looking at who follows the people who interest me.
So far I’ve followed:
1 - people I know
2 - names I recognise
3 - intriguing profiles
Not following unknown people without any profile. Who does that?
