If you march with or vote for people who are openly racist, you are enabling and empowering those people.
I don't care if you don't think of yourself as racist - if you empower people who are, you are complicit and harming minority groups. Your self-assessment is irrelevant.

You too.
Part of our problem is different bus companies not taking each other's tickets, but last time my daughter went 3/4 mile single on a bus to town it was Β£2.40.
To the nearest supermarket cheapest would be Β£7 capped daily travel thingy I think. It's about ten miles each way.
I can, but my health stuff makes it quite unsuitable for me.
My OH drives so I'm personally OK, but public transport in N.Wales is in dire need of investment and improvement. Provision is insufficient and it's expensive π
You can't imagine how excited my daughter was when she found out that public transport isn't typically one bus every two hours when she visited London π€£π
It's so much cheaper too... Sighs with envy... π
This asshole along with Tony Blair Institute are pushing #DigitalID. This must be pushed back on hard if you care about civil liberties and human rights.

I wish for public ownership though sigh.
Strangely I live very near the old A5 which connected Holyhead to London and was a drovers road originally.
We had a better transport system in this area in the 1960s than now, in big part 'thanks' to Beeching and his station cuts π
I can't live my life without a decent wheelchair.
I had a Β£1200 grant from the NHS towards mine. I had to find the rest of the Β£6500 I needed for something made to measure.
That was 6 years ago, my 5 year review is a long way off.

This is my health board area. It's huge
We don't have many 'local' taxis, I'm in a town and my nearest is 10 miles away.
I'm not trying to be belligerent, but I really think different areas need different solutions.

We used to have two in-between the hospitals.
Wrexham already is considered a hub - my daughter attends there from her home in Prestatyn to see a specialist from Walton.
Betsi Cadwaladr is one of the biggest health boards geographically in the UK, with relatively sparse population so it's tricky.
I've replied to the first bit of your reply because I'm still finding my feet re posting here π€¦π€£
30.09.2025 20:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You see free parking as subsidising car ownership but in areas like mine without public transport to get to hospitals, it would probably be more expensive to provide transport to appointments for people/treat more severe conditions that develop as people don't attend hospital when they first should
30.09.2025 20:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So her dad takes her despite her living 90mins from us.
I can't use public transport but if I could, despite being 45min by car from 2 hospitals, 1 takes 2 buses and 90mins, the other about 4 buses and a possible appt window of about an hr because it's half a day because bus routes.
So, I think perhaps you're basing your view a little bit too much on your situation. I have a daughter who is a wheelchair user. We live in N.Wales. She has had appointments over 100 miles, because our health board area is huge. Public transport literally doesn't exist to get to appts...
30.09.2025 20:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That'd be great but I absolutely don't see how in my area.
We're 45 mins from 2 hospitals by car, 1hr 20 and 2 buses to one, and the other there's no easy route so would take half a day and about 4 buses, and has a small possible appointment window before being unable to get back the same day.
Because that's literally how society works - people collectively contribute to things that don't benefit them personally all the time.
I'm poor and can't drive for medical reasons but I don't begrudge free parking for people attend hospital, if they're there I doubt they want to be, eh.
I have one at the moment, a predominantly white take on Sophie's Universe, for a King-size bed, because I've obviously lost my mind π€¦ππ€·π€£

Govt levies VAT on private school fees. Why not on healthcare? Billions can be raised.
Private sector freeloads on NHS trained staff, doesn't pay for training. Makes excessive profits from NHS contracts.
