The ironic part is that most corporate DEI initiatives have benefitted white women more than people of color &/or LGBTQ+ folks. So for Black people, not much changed. You can argue that Costco did good in not listening, but this anti-DEI thing felt like Trump making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

As long as they pace themselves & don't hit 40%, sure. Though I'm expecting Year 1 to be the Fantastic Four + a Baxter Building stage.

So yeah, probably safer to just stick with the limit. And per that contract, Tokon can only have a maximum of 8 restricted X-Men characters. I'm not sure if Danger counts towards that (I'd need to check the contract again), but Storm/Wolverine/Magik definitely do.

Funny enough, Sony kinda fucked themselves over by giving Insomniac exclusive X-Men rights until 2035. Because of that, not even ASW on Sony's dime can go above 40% of the roster being X-Men. Sony COULD re-negotiate with Marvel Games, but they'd likely ask for their pound of flesh in exchange.

Outside of her, most of the characters revealed so far are those who you'd expect in Marvel games in recent years. Even Robbie & Magik are seemingly favorites for the folks at Marvel Games given how often they've been popping up.

We should probably be careful not to over-correct off the most recent reveal, especially when it comes to potential weirdos. I'd argue that Danger is very likely THE weirdo pick of the launch roster, one who also doubles as promo pick (she's gonna be in X-Men '97 Season 2).

The thing is, I'm expecting each Tokon team to have at least one woman. And remember, Shuri was willing to work with Namor despite him killing her mom in front of her in the MCU. If T'Challa asked her to look past the injuries Doom inflicted on him, she'd go along with it (especially for Wakanda).

Another thing, Doom might be the clear leader because he would be the only king. Quill & Loki are just princes, while Shuri is a princess standing in for her injured brother.

Rivals may come to Switch 2, but Tokon is a Sony-funded joint. It won't come to other systems for a while, if ever.

I'd be shocked if ASW of all companies resorted to genAI, especially given how meticulous they are about hand-crafting stuff.

That's the norm for fighting games nowadays, higher visual fidelity means that it takes longer to make each character.

Iron Man & Captain America's classic costumes compared to the statues in the New York City stage, with Thor being the odd one out so far. This implies that Thor will be playable in the base roster, likely as part of the Avengers.

Likewise, Thor is basically confirmed. Steve & Tony are getting their classic suits, both of which can be seen in the NYC stage alongside Thor's. Since that model exists, it heavily implies that Thor himself won't be far behind.

Like I said, I think we're gonna have at least one lady per team. Carol on the Avengers would fill that spot.

Likewise, I'm starting to lean more towards Shuri being the game's Black Panther after seeing that dialogue. Her tech would be a good way of setting her apart from MvC T'Challa.

Of course, this means that there won't be a pure Guardians of the Galaxy team. But I would have Captain Marvel on the Avengers team to give the cosmic side some more love, especially since I expect team to have at least one lady. Also, there's a suspicious starburst in the recent trailer.
