A furry cat in a basket, contorted in a most awkward fashion, deeply asleep. Her paws are pulled up to her chest and curled inward while her face is pressed into the bed sideways. Her back is arched and the overall vibe of the photo is extremely weird positioning and posture. And yet she sleeps.

This cannot be comfortable. Cats. How do they work.

If confused, take pics of all sides of the mushroom, where it's growing, and what color spore print if it has released its spores & ask credible mushroom hunting groups (and even then, take online opinions with a grain of salt...not all foragers know what they're talking about.) Have fun don't die!

Get some mushroom books based on your area. Learn about the different mushroom parts & where different mushrooms like to grow. Ask local foragers about beginner mushrooms to hunt. When you start getting more confident, look up if the mushroom you think you're looking at has any toxic look alikes.
