"No matter how corrupt, greedy, and heartless our government, our corporations, our media, and our religious & charitable institutions may become, the music will still be wonderful. If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: The only proof he needed for the existence of God was music."

We're waking up to a new US/Russia axis
Why Trump clings to Putin.
Reposting something I wrote from a couple of weeks ago about the new US/Russia axis and where it comes from. It isnβt just transactional, itβs ideological. Itβs bleak but itβs reality.

A few weeks ago my 10 year old son stayed home FOR A WEEK with Flu A. Trying to work at the same time was impossible & had to use annual leave - no different really to if I worked in an office.
I hope OFSTEDβs leadership on education is more credible than their authority to opine on wfh.

Well feel free to take this up with said males. Like I intimated, I donβt feel particularly favourably about being schooled/ corrected about this by Tim - or any other male. Iβd really appreciate someone male doing the work instead of blaming/correcting women.

Yes. I have a son and a daughter. Iβm so over women being blamed from the behaviour of (some/ a lot of) men.

I love Tim Minchinβs work. But I was really annoyed by a recent interview of his.Tim and all the other non toxic men can fix this problem instead of blaming the feminists who call it out and whoβve been on the receiving end of it in perpetuity. Properly cross with him.

ADORE the pod. Have listened from the start but so important now to hear respectful & insightful commentary. I was a v political teen and Harriet was & remains a hero. As is Jess. But huge respect to Ruth: shocked & thrilled to agree so much with a Conservative! Long may you 3 brighten my Fridays!

Iβm aware itβs fickle, but the big story in our household today is the release of Sam Fenderβs People Watching video (15yo had it on countdown) with Andrew Scott starring.
So moving. In this hard January, much needed β€οΈβπ©Ή, albeit wounded.

My daughter sent me a :-( along with the news story of Zoe leaving, yesterday. Iβd call that a success.
We will really miss her, and the open-heartedness she brings, but sheβs more than earned some lie-ins, some respite from the intrusion and to do whatever the feck she wants to do with her life x

Agreed. But also, as if a woman whoβs done a job for 6 years getting up at hideous oβclock isnβt allowed to move on. My own just 15 year old daughter and I have listened to her on the school run as we wait for the bus at 7am and she has brightened that journey considerably. 1/2
