We're waking up to a new US/Russia axis Why Trump clings to Putin.

Reposting something I wrote from a couple of weeks ago about the new US/Russia axis and where it comes from. It isn’t just transactional, it’s ideological. It’s bleak but it’s reality.

A few weeks ago my 10 year old son stayed home FOR A WEEK with Flu A. Trying to work at the same time was impossible & had to use annual leave - no different really to if I worked in an office.
I hope OFSTED’s leadership on education is more credible than their authority to opine on wfh.

Well feel free to take this up with said males. Like I intimated, I don’t feel particularly favourably about being schooled/ corrected about this by Tim - or any other male. I’d really appreciate someone male doing the work instead of blaming/correcting women.

Yes. I have a son and a daughter. I’m so over women being blamed from the behaviour of (some/ a lot of) men.

I love Tim Minchin’s work. But I was really annoyed by a recent interview of his.Tim and all the other non toxic men can fix this problem instead of blaming the feminists who call it out and who’ve been on the receiving end of it in perpetuity. Properly cross with him.

ADORE the pod. Have listened from the start but so important now to hear respectful & insightful commentary. I was a v political teen and Harriet was & remains a hero. As is Jess. But huge respect to Ruth: shocked & thrilled to agree so much with a Conservative! Long may you 3 brighten my Fridays!

I’m aware it’s fickle, but the big story in our household today is the release of Sam Fender’s People Watching video (15yo had it on countdown) with Andrew Scott starring.
So moving. In this hard January, much needed β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή, albeit wounded.

Def worth the time.

Much love to you, Jess. Feeling so bad for you, so worried for you and your family and actually so worried for all of us and our politics.
You are the best of us, bab. x

I am middle class now. But many of us were working class. We know a creep and we know a power imbalance when we see one.
And those of us β€žof a certain ageβ€œ are fed up of it.
Be an upstanding, not a bystander.

Context matters.
Talking about what you’ve done with your wife/ partner that morning to a colleague? No.

Hard agree. The misogyny around her leaving bites. She (and all of us) has the right to do whatever she wants and is right for her. X

My daughter sent me a :-( along with the news story of Zoe leaving, yesterday. I’d call that a success.
We will really miss her, and the open-heartedness she brings, but she’s more than earned some lie-ins, some respite from the intrusion and to do whatever the feck she wants to do with her life x

Agreed. But also, as if a woman who’s done a job for 6 years getting up at hideous o’clock isn’t allowed to move on. My own just 15 year old daughter and I have listened to her on the school run as we wait for the bus at 7am and she has brightened that journey considerably. 1/2
